At the southernmost Point of the island, strong winds propel windsurfers on the adventures over the waves in front of a superb beach, where in sheltered areas swimmers can enjoy the outstanding waters. In this magnificent setting, 100 km from the capital, 40 km from Lindos and 8 km from the village of Kattavia , the sea at Prasonisi seems to mingle with the adjacent land delighting the senses and the wind stirs up the passion for an exhilarating aquatic adventure.
The sandy beach is world famous spot for wind/kite surfers paradise with wind statistics that are second to none in Europe. It’s one of the best places to watch the sunset on the whole island with a totally clear horizon. Especially in July and August when the summer winds are at their most favourable. Prasonisi is surely one of the most impressive beaches on Rhodes, at its southernmost tip. Two sandy coves ending in an island that you can reach on foot depending weather and sea levels. On one side of the cape there is the Aegean Sea with good waves and views for advanced surfers and on the other side the Mediterranean Sea with calmer water, making it an ideal location for every level of surfer.
At Prasonisi beach you will find 4 specialised surfing stations in which you can rent or store your surf equipment. There are also surfboards and wet-suits for hire.

Situated at the southernmost point of the island opposite Prasonisi is ancient Vroulia. This is one of the most important early settlements with organized urban planning to have been located in Greece with finds from excavations placing its construction between 650 nad 500 BC.
The quiet village of Kattavia sings of traditional Greece and the simple life. Located 8 kilometers away from the center of Prasonisi Beach, The village has a small square with a few cafes and tavernas where visitors can enjoy local Greek cuisine and drinks. Overall, Kattavia offers a peaceful retreat for those seeking to experience the authentic Greek way of life in a rural setting.
Situated close to Prasonisi and Kattavia, the Monolithos Castle stands tall as one of the most renowned tourist destinations. Constructed in the 1480s atop a towering 100-meter rock by the Knights of Saint John, the medieval castle was erected to safeguard the island from potential attacks. Despite being in ruins, the castle continues to draw visitors from all corners of the globe, who come to bask in the awe-inspiring views of the sea and the two islets. The castle also houses a small but functional chapel dedicated to Agios Panteleimon (Saint Pantaleon). Asklipio Castle is another notable fortification in the area.
In Prasonisi the primary mode of transportation is by car or motorbike. Prasonisi is served by a local bus service, but the schedules are limited, and it may not be the most convenient option for visitors who want to explore the surrounding areas. Renting a car or motorbike is a popular option for tourists, as it allows them to explore the nearby beaches and attractions at their own pace. Alternatively, taxis are also available for hire, but they can be relatively expensive compared to renting a car or motorbike.
